AWARAPAN
Quandary of freedom

Rating:- * *

To think of it….. This was the first time as far as I know Emraan Hashmi in a – Mahesh Bhatt movie without any kissing scenes!!!!, this time we didn’t get the pleasure of seeing him in ‘Action’…if you know what I mean! But has it worked for the movie- I doubt so..

Awarapan is an Ok-Ok flick which if will survive will work because of its music and Cinematography! God Bless the Cinematographer..Raj Chakravarti otherwise the movie could have been a torture to watch … and hail Mr. Pritam for good music especially the track”Toh Phir aao” ! It is the song you will walk out with on your mind and lips.

Amazing shots of Hong-Kong and Bangkok are breathtaking. One might just might think of packing bags and run off for a vacation to catch glimpse of the beautiful places. With Good collection of talent being wasted … a few have turned up with still satisfactory performances.

My friend once said …if a movie can’t grab your attention in the starting then it’s not a good movie…Though I did loose interest in the first 15 minutes, I also predicted somewhat of the movie. With passé dialogues trying to entertain you…it is a pathetic attempt to engage a viewer for 2 hours.

The story of course…
The story is about Shivam( Emraan Hashmi) who is heartbroken and takes solace in working for his Boss Malik (Asutosh Rana) and taking care of one of its Hotels in Hong-Kong. Malik before leaving the country leaves Shivam with the job of keeping an eye on his love interest Reema (Mrinali Sharma) who he thinks is cheating him. And if so he orders him to kill her.

The moment Shivam sees Reema, his catastrophic past freshes itself in his mind. The similarities between his past ( Shreya Saran)and Reema starts hounding him till he finds Reema has a secret Boyfriend (Rehan Khan)with whom she is planning to take off from the country. Now the dilemma is to kill the girl or not

And what path Shivam takes….the route of his past to reach his past and handover Reema to her love Bilal (Rehan Khan) and set them “Free” with help of his friend Kabir (Shaad Randhawa).

To Look Out For….
THE CINEMATOGRAPHY AND THE MUSIC!! Cinematography is at its best and music is feet tapping.

In actors Shreya Saran brings in a fresh look in the movie…though she doesn’t have a huge part in the movie. Salil Acharya has made his mark in his negative role. Ashutosh Rana is at his usual Best and Emraan’s new look is something to look out for. And Purab Kohli for his weirdest expressions as Ashish Vidyarthee’s spoiled son.

The Direction of Mohit Suri is good and Shagufta Rafique is done good work with the story…just the execution could have been worked on.

Not To Look Out For ….
The story-it’s very predictable.
The Dialogues-very clichéd.
Ashish Vidyarthee’s (as Rajan, malik’s brother) Talent being wasted.
Shaad and Mrinali’s non worth talent as actors.

It’s not a movie to waste your money on!
