BHOOTHNATH
ANGEL IN A JOLLY

What is it?
Yummy!! Hmm! This ‘Bhoothji’ is choo chweet and nautyful, I was thoroughly entertained in this lively burst of funtertainment, that had only one agenda, - to amuse & entertain.

Do you believe in ghost?. I bet you will, after watching the iconic Big B in a  jacket eaten by dhimaks & worms, unkept look, long nails, ruffled ( salt and pepper coloured hair), but with a heart of gold that strikes a perfect code with the 4 & ½ inch wonder called Aman Siddiqui to deliver a wholesome paisa vasool summer bonanza for the kids at heart.

Yippe! At last a decent family entertainer from the tinsel town after a series of buffooneries, ishtyles & attitudes.

It takes courage to tell a story about the relationship between a spirit and a mortal that is different in its approach and yet it still manages to churn in the apt. emotions that click with the junta. Well done! First timer Vivek Sharma deserves all the credit for this achievement.

Does it have a flipside, not frightening but yes. The ronadhona in the climax was a bit too much for me.

Otherwise, ‘Bhootnath’ is a simple story well told.

What is it all about?
This is a story about a seven-year-old naughty yet innocent boy, who unknowingly turns a foe into a friend. Banku (Aman Siddiqui – a child prodigy) and his friend, Bhoothnath aka Kailashnath Amitabh Bachchan (the icon in his complete element).

Banku's parents Sharukh Khan (excellent), Juhi Chawla (spontaneous, Gr8 timing) comes to live in a mansion in Goa, considered haunted.

‘Bhoothji’ leaves no stone unturned to scare the kid but eventually the kid brings the good samartarian out of ‘Bhoothji’ and he turns into a guarding angel. Holy holy, the angel is in jolly. The story takes a turn when Kailash Nath's son Priyanshu (looks like Abhishek from some angle, effective) decides to sell off the mansion.

What to look out for?
Vivek Sharma’s simple story told in a charming manner that lures you for its magical moments be it the bond between Big B and Aman or the perfectly placed tear jerking accident. Not a single bad performance by the main characters. Satish Shah was also very amusing. Brilliant camerawork by Vishnu Rao.

What not?
The rona dhona in the second half could have been minimized. Rajpal Yadav is wasted.

Recommended: Certainly a summer bonanza for the kids at heart.
