BOMBAY TO BANGKOK
SAME SAME NOTHING DIFFERENT

What is it?
The tagline goes ‘Same Same But Different ‘but alas, apart from the thai location, it has nothing new to offer. Its like ordering the popular Thai dish ‘Tom Yam Kung’ in Bangkok and the waiter serves you masala dosa which you have already tried and still doing it from ages. And on the top of that you don’t get any coconut chutney plus the sambhar is tasteless.
‘BOMBAY TO BANGKOK’ is a big disappointment from Nagesh Kukunoor, who has given sensible cinema like Dor, Iqbal even his maiden venture ‘Hyderabad Blues’ had its moments but this one just adds to the list of turkeys.
The only redeeming factor in this whatsoever flick is the refreshing performance by Shreyas Talpade & Lina Christianson. Vijay Maurya as the gangster rapper is a real surprise.
What is it all about?
Shankar (Shreyas Talpade) is a cook and is in desperate need of money steals, he finds a bag full of notes which belongs to a local don (Naseeruddin Shah- appears just for a blinker), his son a gangster rapper (Vijay Maurya- pleasant surprise ) is after him. He escapes away and makes his way into a team of Doctors heading for relief work to Bangkok but loses the all important money bag in the chaos. In Bangkok his world turns upside down at a bar where he bumps into lovely Jasmine. The hitch is she is all Thai and he can't converse with her at all. And what follow’s is a boring adventures of these two. With an end that doesn’t require you to be any Einstein to guess.
What was Different Mr. Nagesh Kukunoor?.
What to look out for?
Apart from the lead pair, Vijay Maurya as the gansta rapper was a pleasant surprise.
What not?
Other wise there is nothing different. Even we are spared from experiencing the picturesque locations of Bangkok, what a waste.
Conclusion: Try for a better option for this weekend.
