What is it?
Trendy outfits, slick wheels, all chic, style and gloss that’s what Anubhav Sinha’s con caper, ‘Cash’ is all about. Anubhav showed his slickness and style in ‘Dus’ and with ‘Cash’ he only goes further. This time he remixes action with animation much akin to Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill’. So does bollywood has found an answer to John Woo and Quentin Tarantino? Well let the time make its own judgment.

As far as Anubhav is concerned, he does establishes himself as a maker of trend and style. But the problem with ‘Cash’ is that it scores highly on the style factor but when it comes to content, sadly the film fails to deliver the goods.

Style is to the core but content makes the audience weary. A perfect example of a chocolate without sugar, a cake with oodles of chocolate but no cream.

Minus flaws, ‘Cash’ is a treat for its breathtaking cinematography by Ravi Walia, mind-blowing action shots by Antony Stone (the transformation from animation to real and vice versa is simply amazing) and the peppy, and zesty title track by Vishal & Shekhar.

Whats it all about?
Doc (Ajay Devgan) is an international con artiste who hires a set of top-notch robbers to steal a set of priceless diamonds in South Africa. The team consist of Water Danny (Zayed Khan) a sea hawk who is always ready to deliver his shairies at any given time. Udan Khatola (Riteish Deshmukh) who says Kabadi Kabadi choo and escapes from the cops. So lucky! Pooja (Esha Deol), ye night club dancer karti hai kam dooja and is the runaway speed demon of the Group. Aditi(Dia Mirza) a conduit who weaves the different strands of the heist and loves Angad (Suniel Shetty) who is also after the diamonds and a firnagi uncle to settle his personal scores. Hang on! We should have at least one good guy in this gang of all baddies. So there is this Security Officer Sania (Shamita Shetty), Vow, it seems like the lass has walked straight from the ramp to the Indian intelligence, she has been assigned the task of protecting this priceless diamond.

The rest of the story lies in how these three groups manage to thwart each other after flying toy planes, jumping from skyscrapers, driving the slickest wheels, sea diving, skating, blowing cars, kick boxing and what not in these masterly arranged action scenes, shot in the breathtaking locales of Cape Town in South Africa.

What to look out for?
Breathtaking cinematography by Ravi Walia, mind-blowing action shots by Antony Stone, the real into animation and vice versa experiment is really amazing. Spectacular production values and the title track by Vishal & Shekhar. This flick is all hep, style, chic and gloss.

Performance wise there is nothing much to talk about in this movie; the real performers are the cameramen and the action director who almost have an equal amount of role to play in this adventure.

Anyway to complete the list, Ajay Devgan impresses, Zayed Khan is good, Riteish Deshmukh looks better and does a fine job.

Shamita Shetty delivers a fine performance, Esha Deol shines.

What Not?
The movie is packaged and designed so stylishly that the viewer has to find the content. Initially during the first half much of time is wasted in establishing the characters. The excitement and curiosity of a con flick is clearly missing. Apart from the title track rest of the songs are hurdles while one is watching the flick.

Conclusion: All said and done, ‘Cash’ fulfills the expectations but only in style.

Go for it if you want to see the desi version of ‘Tarantino’s’ and ‘John Woo’s’ all in one.
