Technical Analysis

Its almost six years since Deepak Tijori decided to move behind the camera (Oops, Tom Dick Harry, Fareb etc) & it still needs to work for him at the B.O. An excuse in the name of suspense & wrongly promoted as a “thriller”, ‘Fox’ is dull, boring, drawn out, poor lighting and cinematography material that offers hardly anything exciting.

There isn’t a single character in the film the viewer can identify with and the acting is strictly average. Corporate should now have an aptitude test done by an expert in cinema before finalizing any project instead of wasting money on those executives who hardly understand the art of filmmaking & waste time on knotting their silky corporate ties.

Even after 6 six years behind the camera Deepak is strikingly amateurish in calling his shots. Those camera movements are uncalled for- imagine moving the camera from top to bottom for a scene where sunny has to open an envelope & read a book. RGV is able to bemuse cause he knows when to use obliviously Deepakji needs to learn the art.

In all fairness, the idea if executed properly could have been a nifty little thriller about a lawyer trapped between morality & ambition but as plotted out by the Deepak who is the writer as well the helmer ‘Fox’ turns out to be an uninspired thriller.

There’s hardly any moment of pleasure in ‘Fox’ which tries in vain to combines old-fashioned suspense techniques with newfangled techno-savvy. The story unfolds unconvincingly Even the dependable Sunny seems to be uninspired less said the better of the other cast. Absent with any layers of thrills for the viewers, Fox’ is a case of mistaken identities. With adequate production values & blah music with hardly any vow, ‘Fox’ gets 1 out of five purely for getting a successful release.

The Story

Fox is a sluggishly written boring script promoted as a thriller; it’s a story of a young, successful criminal lawyer, Arjun Kapoor (Arjun Rampal) whose knowledge and aggressive interpretation of the law makes him a name to reckon with.

Arjun loves being famous and successful and spends little time thinking about the moral issues related to his work. one day, torn with guilt, he decides to quit his law practice and change for good. However, someone seems to be unwilling to let him go so easily.

Now, Arjun is in a race to save himself, and must use the help of his girlfriend Urvashi (Sagarika Ghatge) and a local Goa police officer Yash Deshmukh (Sunny Deol) before it’s too late.

The Buzz is missing everywhere.

Business Analysis

Sluggishly written, amateurishly narrated, this supposed thrill pill will have a premature death at the B.O.
