Technical Analysis

Falling short of hype & laughs, ‘Life Partner’ is still a better effort by the writer turned helmer Rumi after ‘God Tussi Great Ho’. The writer grows as a director with a cheery persists, however it fails to go overboard with smiles, hugs, kisses and musical reassurances that all you need in a bollywood relationship comedies as seen in ‘No Entry’, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ etc. cause the helmer basking in his own fancy eyes as a director, fails to give ear or suggest any innovation to the hackneyed screenplay by Yunus Sejawal.

But its cheeky wit, fine performance qualities should make this an attraction for adults who ignore yore & settle for mindless cuddles. Set in some part of South Africa, this story about relationships surprisingly & shockingly gets annoying whenever the master laughter Govinda comes on screen.

Fardeen & Tusshar perform to their standards while the ladies Genelia Dsouza & Prachi Desai give full justice to their role. Due to the insipid screenplay to a promising concept and casting, the brawly sequences between Genelia Dsouza & Fardeen are the only moments in the entire film that tickles your funny bones.

Production wise rich with fair technicalties, ‘Life Partner’ ends up as an average product.

The movie gets 2 out of 5.

One for the funny brawls between Genelia Dsouza & Fardeen Another for the performance of the cast excluding Govinda.

The Story

Karan (Fardeen Khan) and Sanjana (Genelia D'Souza) are madly in love with each other. Marriage is the next step to cement their relationship. But is 'love marriage' the right way to be?

For Bhavesh (Tusshar Kapoor), his life partner, Prachi (Prachi Desai), comes with the approval of his family. But is 'arranged marriage' the way forward? Is it right to prioritize family over marriage? Does Prachi have to prove herself as a worthy daughter-in-law to qualify as an ideal wife?

Jeet (Govinda) is an accomplished divorce lawyer who does not believe in the institution of marriage. He can't be monogamous and is often responsible for his getting his clients divorced. But is 'no marriage' the right policy? Will Jeet ever find a partner and accept matrimony?

LIFE PARTNER is about three protagonists struggling on the marital marathon, but on different tracks.

Promotion

It has been low key on every front – indoor/outdoor/music. The buzz is missing.

Business Analysis
Lack of Buzz & laughs will make the journey of ‘Life Partner’ at the box-office bumpy with potholes every now & then.
