What is it?
Well Well Well, I believe the brains of the think tank in the management Guru produced and finally titled ‘Mithya’ must have gone hell. Earlier it was titled ‘AKA’, then VK Ki Kahani’ and finally they settled for ‘Mithya’ and left everybody guessing. There’s sheer confusion and dilemma all around, the viewer fails to understand what ‘Mithya’ is actually all about.

The protagonist Ranvir Shorey keeps on reciting the famous soliloqui ‘ To Be Or Not To Be’ from Hamlet, pukes on seeing a murder, meets with an accident and looses his memory and bang … a bullet hits his medulla oblongata and he remembers everything.

By the time, The brains behind the script demand an ICU treatment. But all the way, this struggling actor is quite lucky…. He is able to charm the likeness of the bimbo like Neha Dhupia, who makes aloos for him and later finds his hero being aloof and ignorant of what all happened between them. Poor Neha.

It’s certainly not cinema de noir and certainly not a black comedy nor a drama. What genre would we call this?. Ahhh.. Let the mystery remain and even guruji Arindam Chaudhuri’s expertise will fail to give a proper justification or the explanation to these strange happenings (99%) during the second half.

So what keeps you waiting till the interval?

Well, I must tell u that this confutrano has a damn good start and the tempo is brilliantly maintained by Rajat Kapoor till the break, its keeps the viewer guessing and interested. But sadly, when u buy those popcorns and coldrinks, expecting something ‘Hatke’ to happen, you come out highly disappointed and hassled. What a waste.

Even talented Ranvir Shorey’s heroics with Naseruddin Shah, Saurabh Shukla
&Vinay Pathak’s adoring villainy does not provide much of a respite.

A befitting example of starting with a bang and ending with a flipper.

Rajat Kapoor fails to keep the promise he showed in his previous works like ‘Mixed Doubles & Raghu Romeo.

My humble and innocent request to the Guruji(Arindam Chaudhuri), -  Sir, be Kind to all & get some Gyan on cinema and start attending Film festivals and lectures as a student.
‘Mat Roko’.

What is it all about?
VK(Ranvir Shorey- Brilliant) has come to Mumbai, chasing big film dreams, like thousands of others. When fate makes him a pawn in a master game plan of the underworld. Fortunately or rather unfortunately he is a humshakaal of an underworld don Raja Bhaiya. The Bhai’s rival gang discovers this and plants this actor after eliminating the don. The actor now has a real role to play. So far so good, but an unexpected accident turns the tables for everybody involved. Events and sequence happens defining a new meaning to the world confusion, dilemma.. Whatever.

What to look out for?
The tempo in the first half really keeps you engrossed and interested. ‘Mithya’ is Ranvir Shorey’s best till date. Competent performers like Naseer, Vinay & Saurabh do chip in with some good support.

What not?
The entire second half is hooch pouch. Baring the above mentioned actors, you can,t single out any one in particular. The director and writer team is to be blamed.

Conclusion: To Watch Or Not To Watch… I leave the Risk to ‘You’ Guys.
