SHAADI KARKE PHAS GAYA YAAR – STALE STUFF, NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT
Rating:- *
The story revolves around Ayaan [Salman Khan], born in an upper middle class family who falls in love with a model, Ahana [Shilpa Shetty], belonging to a liberal, ultra-rich family. They get married. Whereas they looked forward to a blissful and contented married life, cultural clash and difference in upbringing gives rise to problems, confrontations and ultimately there is talk of divorce too.
The story is a re-hash of several hit films and but lacks any novelty, thanks to inept direction of K.S. Adhiyaman.
If on the one hand the story seems outdated, on the other there is a little too much of music and song after song, as it used to be in good old days, say in the ‘80s. Not that there are no redeeming moments. There are: a few sequences which provide a little fun and entertainment here and there.
The songs [Sajid-Wajid, Daboo Malik] are just about okay, with a couple of average tracks -- 'Taro Ko Mohabbat Ambar Se' and 'Kuch Bhi Nahin Tha'.
Performances? Nobody has given an earth-shaking performance. Shilpa has more negative shades and plays the wicked wife better. From the supporting cast it’s Supriya Karnik who stands out. Shakti Kapoor is also effective.
