Gold turns Platinum

It was a night of glitter and glamour. The bigwigs of our Bollywood industry walked in to celebrate the 75th birthday of renowned film-maker Mr. Mohan Kumar at The Club in Andheri on Thursday night. The party hosted by his son Rohit Kumar and grandchildren, was a delightful family affair mixed with old and special friends and associates.

Some of the first ones to walk in were Rakesh Roshan with wife Pinky Roshan, and Prem Chopra, Javed Akhter and Shabhana Azmi. Other guests to grace the event were Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, Rajesh Roshan, Helen and Salim Khan, Dara Singh,  Rajkumar Kohli and Nishi, Ravi and Renu Chopra, Deepak Tijori, Sumeet Saigal, Rahul Ravail, Vimal Kumar and Deepak Parasher. A very cheerful Suzzane Roshan walked in with her mother Zarine Khan and was seen mingling with the guests.

The ever stylish Anil Kapoor walked in his trademark jeans and boots. Himesh Reshammiya who came in rather late made a dashing entry. Hrithik Roshan who walked in very fashionably late came in after his shoot.

All the guests were seen catching up on old times and making the most of the informal gathering.

Good friend and relative Jay Om Prakash, gave a rather emotional speech for Mohan Kumar, followed by a witty Thank you speech by Mohan Kumar himself. A video/audio screen was put up to showcase some old photographs depicting the journey of the veteran producer/ director and scriptwriter. 

With people becoming more and more caught up in their lives and professions, this was one beautiful evening to reminiscence about nostalgic times and to walk down memory lane.
