Shambhavi daughter of Biswajeet – the soft romantic hero of the 60’s knocks Bollywood.
IMP News Wire, Dated May 29, 2009
She is bubbly, cute & acting is in her blood. We are talking about Shambhavi – the daughter of the soft romantic hero of the 60’s Biswajeet who in spite of the loud love cry ‘yahoo’ by the irresistible Shammi Kapoor managed to woo the audience belonging to the fair sex by his simplicity, charm & innocence.
The romantic hero of the 60’s this time also announced his love but with a twist in the tale at a posh suburban hotel recently.
Biswajeet introduced his daughter Shambhavi to the select media & reintroduced his passion for cinema.
Shambhavi makes her acting debut in this mad caper produced by his father Biswajeet. Titled “Sorry Madam Maff Karo’. When asked how he came to know about the hidden talent, Biswajet who was delighted by the way the movie has shaped up shared that ‘ I was surprised when she joined acting classes & became serious about acting, now after the completion of the film I am confident that she has the potential to make her own mark”.
Shambhavi was all in smiles & replied to every query like a true professional (hmmm. Papa must have given some tips) just kidding.
The newcomer looked confident and when quipped about boyfriends, pat came the reply “I am here to make my career, there is no time for such crush”.
Well, the answer took the journo & all of us by surprise.
When the veteran actor was asked about the difference between the golden 60’s & today’s stardom, the actor smartly replied that “time is the same, it doesn,t stop for anyone. In those years it was Biswajeet & now it’s the Khans, who are now struggling with time”.
The atmosphere was cordial where Anupam Jalota came in specially to bless the new bollywood arrival.
Taking the veteran lover boy view seriously, who ruled the heart of the audience in the sixties with films like Bees Saal Baad, April Fool, Mere Sanam, Night In London, & Kismet to name a few. Although today’s generation may not have heard of the actor but many of us have heard or watched “Kajra Mohabbat Wala” in many forms & mixes. The ‘Kismet’ number composed by O.P. Nayyar has become immortal for two reasons, one that it was a rare combination of bollywood singing legends Asha Bhosle & Shamshad Begum coming together & the other reason was Babita (the actress in the film & Kareena’s mother) played a boy while Biswajeet played a girl in the song.
Well, whether Shambhavi will be able to convincingly play any given role offered to her like his father & brother Prasenjit – the Bengali superstar, time will tell. Wishing Shambhavi all the best, the movie is likely to be released by 12th of June following the settlement between the producers & plexes that hopefully have come to a solution.
