Sixteeen : Nine - A Rendezvous between Achievers and Aspirants

SIXTEEN: NINE International Students Film Festival is a stage which will give an opportunity to the learners in cinema world and those carved niche for themselves in cinema to meet and share their experiences till date. SIXTEEN: NINE International student’s film festival a SVKM’s Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Management initiative will walk the ramp on 3rd and 4th March 2008. At Bhaidas Maganlal Sabhagriha, Jashoda Rang Mandir (JRM) and Santokba Sanskar Sadan, were over 150 colleges around the globe will share their talents.

The fest will share the resplendent work of Film makers and ad makers with the audience and the jury to introduce their aspirations of presenting better work compared to that in the past. The student film makers from 150 colleges will screen their imagination and thoughts during the festival.

The two day festival will showcase the contemporary ideas and thoughts of the young blood blended with enthusiasm and creativity. The main objective of this festival is to explore new talents and give them an opportunity to make their dream come true. 

Sixteen: nine being a rare and distinct festival is been looked upon as a cautious approach aggravating to the film fraternity. The competition will be healthy as it not only aims to screen movies at the festival but will also promote new faces by judging and felicitating the best work through awards. ‘SIXTEEN: NINE’ welcomes each and every student to the magical world of cinema where all can come true if one has the potential to prove his or her talent.

‘SIXTEEN: NINE’ other than screening films will also have seminars on various aspects of film making including script writing, direction, Ad film making, film reviewing etc. which will be under the guidance of stalwarts in film Industry passing on knowledge they inherit.

The seminars will be held at Santokba Hall on 3rd March 2008

Category VI :   Animation Films                         :   10 minutes maximum

Award winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar a for new directors will coincide the inception by announcing opening of the festival on the 3rd March at 10.00 am at Bhaidas Hall.
Mr. Aamir Khan, a Perfectionist in the film industry will be the chief guest at ‘SIXTEEN: NINE’ to give away the awards on the felicitation night function on the 4th March at 6.00 pm.
The event is supported by eminent personalities from the entertainment industry like, Mr. Rajkumar Santoshi, Mr. Sudhir Mishra, Mr. Taran Adarsh, Mr. Vipul Shah, Mr. Prasoon Joshi, Mr. Pralhad Kakkar, Mr. Javed Siddique, Mr. B.P. Singh, & Mr. Ashoke Pandit to name a few.
