PAISA AUR PYAAR

My Good friend producer-director Diwaliya Lal’s son Bunty is in love. Being hesitant to talk about it to his dad, he confided in me. I told him that I’m very glad to know that he is rising in love (not falling) as it is the thing to do at his age. I asked him whether he is writing poetry to his beloved or writing a story of his romance. He told me the story and here it is.

While they were out for a stroll at Juhu beach, and Bunty was about to give a hint of his feelings about her. Babli said, “I hear Sanjay Dutt is showering gifts over Manyata”.

“Every lover gives gifts to his beloved. What’s strange about it? “Bunty said.
“It’s about the kind of gifts he is giving? “ Babli said.

“A gift is a gift, it may be of any kind,” Bunty said.

“A rose is a gift and a diamond is also a gift,” Babli said.

“Well, Sanjay can afford to give diamonds. He is so rich, “Bunty said.

“There are plenty of rich all over the world. But how many give jewellery worth Rs. 4 crore in few months, “Babli said.

“Sanjay has style and money and he is also very impulsive, “Bunty said.

“I wonder what my fiancé will give me”, Babli said.

“Are you already engaged? “ Bunty asked.

“No silly. I ‘m only thinking about the lover of my dreams,” Babli said.

Bunty heart sank as he returned home after the Juhu beach date.

Their next meeting was at the restaurant at Band Stand where Salman Khan is said to have slapped Katrina Kaif.

“I wonder why Salman behaves like that with his girl friends. I would never slap my girl friend whatever be the provocation, “Bunty said.

“Salman is hot tempered, but he is also kind hearted, “Babli said.

“What’s the value of such a kind heart when you go around slapping people, “Bunty said.  

“Go and ask Katrina the value. Salman gifted her a flat costing 2 crore rupees,” Babli said, and continued, “I wonder what kind of house my fiancé is going to gift me.”
And Bunty could not gear up the courage to say that he aspired to be her fiancé.

On the next date, they were walking in the Hanging Garden and Babli looked around at the skyscrapers.
“I hear Mukesh Ambani is going to gift his wife Nita a giant skyscraper costing hundred of crores, “Babli said.

“Mukesh is counted among the top richest men in the world” Bunty said.

“There are so many rich men, but who has a taste like Mukesh,” Babli said.
 
“Mukesh would also be living in the same house. He is gifting it to himself,” Babli said.

“I would gladly marry a man who gifts a skyscraper to himself”.

Again, Bunty could not gear up the courage to propose to Babli.

As they were driving home, they sighted a plane flying above. “This must be Kareena Kapoor flying to Goa,” Babli said.

“Planes are flying all over the world from Mumbai. How do you say, it is Kareena flying to Goa?”

“It’s just my hunch,” Babli said.

“What kind of a hunch?” Bunty asked.

“Saif Ali Khan has chartered a plane for Kareena. Now she can escape to her favourite spot in Goa whenever she wants,” Babli said.

“And Saif may also hop in,” Bunty said.

“Its double bonus for Kareena,” Babli said.

“When a man with two kids woos a young girl, he has to do things like that,” Bunty said.

“Who minds the kids when the man gifts jewellery worth crores of rupees and throws a jet in the bargain,” Babli said.

Bunty got flabbergasted. He just did not know what to say. Bunty has grown up on films like “Paisa Ya Pyar” where the heroine preferred love over money.

Now girls want both love and money.
