Limitation of Membership.
For the purpose of registration. the number of members of this Association (hereinafter called "the Association") is declared to be  unlimited.

Classes of Members
There shall be Four classes of members:

  1. Associate Members
  2. Associate class I Members
  3. Ordinary Members
  4. Honorary Member

Eligibility Conditions
Associate Member
A member who has not yet completed one full length feature film or who has not done at least 10 regular shifts shooting for his next film within five years from the date of certification of his earlier film or who has not done at least 10 regular shifts shooting for his next film within five years preceding the date of flling nominations for the election of the Executive Committee.

Associate Class I Member
a) A member, who having started his first fllm, has done atleast 15 regular shifts shooting and has recorded on song will belong to Association Class I
b) Provided that an Associate Class I member, if he completes his film within a period of three years and gets it censored, he shall qualify to become an Ordinary Member.
c) Provided further that if an Associate Class I member does not complete his film within three years and get it censored, he shall cease to be an Associate Class I member.
d) provided further that if a member has produced two full length feature films and if he loses his right to remain as Ordinary Member, he shall remain as an Associate Class I Member for all times and will be entitled to vote and contest for the five members to be elected by Associate Class I Members to the Executive Committee from the associate Class I as provided under Articles 27.

Ordinary Member
a) A member who has produced at least on full length feature film duly certified by the Central Board of Film Certification;
b) provided that an Ordinary member shall cease to be an Ordinary Member if within five years from the date of Certification above said, he does not do at least 10 regular shifts shooting for his next film;
c) provided further that an Ordinary member shall also cease to be an ordinary member if he does not do at least 10 regular shifts shooting for his next film within five years. preceding the date of filing nominations for the election of the Executive Committee.

Honorary Member
Any individual who is known for having done distinguished service to the Indian film or cinematographic industry (of which the Association shall be the sole judge) and whose admission as Hon. Member is considered desirable by the Association, may with his consent, be made an Hon. member of the Association by a Resolution of the Executive committee of the Association with 2/3rd majority.

Honorary members shall not be required to pay any entrance fee or subscription to the Association. In the absence of any provisions to the contrary, Hon. members shall have all the rights and privileges of Associate Members.

In addition, the Committee of the association may at any time create new classes of members and provide for their entrance fees and subscription and for the rights and privileges of such new classes of members of the Association.

Special Members
In addition to the above classes of members, the Committee shall in special cases, have power to allow any person to become a member of the Association for such purpose, subject to such conditions and upon payment of such sum, as the committee may in their absolute discretion think fit. In such case, the Committee shall have power to dispense with the payment of an entrance fee.

Patrons
The Committee may elect Patrons and Vice Patrons of the Association who need not be members of the Association.

Proposal for admission.
Every candidate for admission as an Ordinary, Associate Class I or Associate Member shall be proposed by one Ordinary Member and seconded by an Executive Committee Member. The application for membership of every such candidate shall be made in writing in such form and contain such particulars as may be required by the Committee from time to time.

Admission of members
The admission of members shall be in the sole and unfettered discretion of the committee and the committee may adopt and/or prescribe at any time and from time to time. Such procedure for the admission of members. as it may deem fit and may admit or reject conditionally or otherwise any candidate for the membership of the Association and the Committee shall in no case be bound to give reasons for any such admission or rejection.

Membership when to commence
On the admission of a member the Secretary shall notify the same to the member in writing and shall furnish him with a copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association and of rules and by-laws (if any) for the time being in force. The date of admission shall be the date on which the candidate is admitted by the Committee. No newly admitted Member shall be permitted to enjoy any of the privileges of a member until he shall have paid subscription and entrance fee (if any). Should a newly admitted member not have paid his subscription and entrance fee, if any, within one month of the date of admission, such admission shall be considered void and he shall be deemed to have been rejected.

Rejected candidate cannot be a Visitor
No rejected candidate shall be eligible for admission as a visitor to the Association's premises, studios, laboratories or meetings.

Qualifications for Ordinary membership
Every individual, firm, joint stock company or other corporation respectively, who or which carry on the business of the film production in India, fulfilling the following  conditions shall be an Ordinary member:

  • who or which shall have produced atleast one fUll length feature film duly certified by the Central Board of Film Certification;
  • who or which shall have done atleast 10 regular shifts shooting of his next film within five years from the date of certification by the Central Board of Film Certification;

    OR

  • who or which shall have done atleast 10 regular shifts shooting within five years preceding the date of filing nomination for the election of the Executive Committee.

Qualifications for Associate Class I Membership

  • A member, who having started his first film, has done atleast 15 regular shifts shooting and has recorded one song will belong to Associate Class 1, Such member shall have both the right to vote as well as the right to contest elections or executive committee for the 5 members to be elected from Associate Class I as per Article 27.

  • provided that an Associate Class! member, if he completes his film within a period of three years and gets it censored, he shall qualify to become an Ordinary Member;

  • provided further that if an Associate Class I member, does not complete his film within three years and gets it censored. he shall cease to be an Associate Class 1 member.

  • provided further that if a member have produced two full length feature films and if he loses his right to remain as Ordinary Member, he shall remain as an Associate Class I Member for all times and will be entitled to vote and contest for the five members to be elected by Associate Class I members to the Executive Committee from the Associate Class I as provided under Article 27.

Qualifications for Associate Membership
Every individual, firm, joint stock company or other corporation carrying on business of film production in India, who or which has 
(i) not yet started any full length feature film;
(ii) started a full length feature film but not yet completed the same;
(iii) completed one full length feature film duly certified by the Central Board of Film Certification and who has not completed at least 10 regular shifts shooting for his next film within five years from the date of certification of his earlier film.
(iv) who or which has completed one full length feature film duly certified by the Central Board of Film Certification and/or who has not completed at least 10 regular shifts shooting for his next film within five years preceding the date of filing nominations for the election of the Executive Committee.

Every individual, firm, joint stock company or other )u corporation who or which has started the production of a full length feature film or has completed preparations to start the production of a full length feature film shall be eligible for admission as an Associate Member.

Whether he is the proprietor or lessee or in control or management of a studio with a minimum of one stage and necessary equipment for the production of films, or of a laboratory fully equipped for the processing of films shall be eligible only for Associate Class Member of the Association.

Rights and Privileges of Members
An Associate Member shall enjoy all rights and privileges of an Ordinary member except:
(i) the right to vote;
(ii) the right of being elected to the Executive Committee;
(iii) rights and privileges which are stated in the Memorandum and Articles to belong only to Ordinary or Honorary Members of the Association.

An Associate class I Member shall enjoy all the rights and privileges of an Ordinary Member except that he shall have the right only to vote at and contest the Election for the Executive Committee for the five members to be elected from Associate Class I by Associate class I members. as provided in Article 27.
