The objects for which the Association is established are :-
Development of film industry
To promote, aid, help, encourage and develop the film or motion picture producing industry in India in all possible ways.
Popularising the cinema
To popularise the cinematographic industry and the motion picture producing industry in India.
Place of meeting
To provide for the members a place of meeting.
Interest of members
To watch over, support. Protect, extend and define the rights of the members of this Association and to procure for their benefit special advantages and concessions of all kinds.
Friendly relations in the industry
To encourage the growth of friendly feelings amongst the members and amongst persons engaged in the film Industry In India specially to encourage co-operation between the members and between the persons engaged in the industry in India.
General
To do all acts or to assist in doing of all acts of all kinds whereby the film or motion picture producing industry or the persons engaged therein in India, May be assisted, helped or aided in any manner whatsoever and without prejudice to the generality of the above to do any of the following acts and things.

Organise persons In the Industry
To organise the persons engaged in the industry or any class or classes of such persons.

Look after their welfare
To look after the welfare of all such persons or class or classes of persons.

Information
To give all Information on matters affecting the production, exhibition or distribution of films in India or abroad.

Statistical Resources
To collect and furnish information about all matters relating to films and their production, distribution and exhibition, and in particular statistics of all kinds.

Contact between branches of the Industry
To bring Into contact persons engaged In the production, distribution and exhibition of films.

Experimental and research work
To undertake and carryon experimental and research work of all kinds which may benefit the industry.

Library
To establish and maintain a library of books relating to the industry.

Museum
To establish and maintain a Museum or other repository for all films of permanent value and for any articles or things used in or relating to the film industry which may be of value and which may be desirable to be preserved.

Internal regulation of the industry
To formulate rules for the conduct of members and other persons in the film industry in India and to change or vary the same from time to time, such rules relating either to the personal conduct of the members inter se or relating to the usages and customs to be observed in the industry.

Settlement of disputes
To Settle all disputes between members of the Association or between persons engaged in the film industry and to arbitrate amongst such contesting parties.

Film culture
To encourage, assist and extend knowledge and information connected with the industry by the
organisation, presentation of prizes, etc. or by lectures, discussions, correspondence, conferences, etc" or by publication of magazines, newspapers, periodicals, maps, charts, statistics, books of reference, etc. by examining and criticising stories, scripts, scenarios,
etc., and generally by encouraging the industry in all possible ways and by otherwise promoting the interests of those engaged in the same.

Film Laboratory
To establish and maintain an up-to-date film laboratory for the use of the members and other persons engaged in the industry, on such terms as may be agreed uponand to establish a studio or studios or a school or schools for the use of the members or other persons engaged in the industry and to establish and maintain a technical staff for advising on the various matters
relating to film technique.

Film Funding
To arrange for the adequate financing of the industry on suitable terms and conditions.
Laws and regulations concerning the industry
To take all necessary action in relation to the laws and regulations concerning the film industry and censoring of film in India and to create and maintain harmonious relations with the authorities whether supreme, local, police, municipal or others and without prejudice to the generality of the above to do all or any of the following acts, deeds and things:-
- Representation
To correspond with and appear on behalf of the members or the film industry before all authorities.
- Advice
To act on behalf of the industry and to advise if called upon, any such authorities.
- Privilege
To obtain sanctions, privileges, advantages, relief and co-operation from any authority in the interest of the industry.
- Legislative Measures
To suggest, promote or oppose legislative and other measures affecting the film Industry and to obtain changes and improvements in the law relating to the industry.
- Protection of and legal aid to members
To protect the interests of the members of the Association and those engaged in the industry and to help them by legal aid given freely or otherwise and by presenting to the proper authorities the cases of such persons, members or persons engaged in the industry as may require help and support.
- Censorship
To sponsor and introduce legislative and other measures for the purpose of regulating the actions of the various Boards of Censors and specially to provide for :-
- Uniform and quick censoring Competent, uniform and quick censoring of the films in India.
- Representation on censor boards Proper and adequate representation of the Association or of the film industry on such Censor Board or Boards.
- Minimising Interference To minimise interference with the trade and industry by such Censor Boards.
- Miscellaneous To otherwise act in all matters relating to the censoring of films in India.
Encouraging Photography
To encourage photography in all its branches and whether amateur or professional.
Property Service
To establish and maintain "a property service" either singly or In concert with producers and manufacturers in order to obtain for the members the use of such property.
