World’s most prestigious and awaited award ceremony of the year got its inaugural on the 24th of Feb Monday at the Kodak theatre in L.A. The reason was the 80th Annual Academy Awards for the year 2008. The evening showed its grandeur when the stars walked the Red carpet. Every Hollywood Actor showing pomposity dressed in immaculate evening wears was the soul of the occasion. Katherine Heigal, Heidi Klum, Miley Cyrus, Anne Hathaway and Dame Helen Mirren were dressed in red and showed that red is always in style.
Though the night couldn’t create records by giving more trophies to a particular movie, however No Land For Old Men with four Oscars was found contended. This time Indian Artists could leave a mark with Shekhar kapoor’s Elizabeth: The Golden Age won the trophy for best costume by Designer Alexandra Byrne, Ratatouille won the award for Best Animated Film having Apurva Shah’s contribution and Rhythm Heus a Mumbai based Studio created Nicole Kidman starrer Golden Compass won the prize for Best Special effects.
The Best Actor award went to Daniel Day –Lewis for There will be Blood, the Best Actress trophy was taken by Marion Cotillard for La Ve En Rose. Best director of the year was Coen Brothers for No country for Old Men.
The Kodak theatre once again witnessed the Hollywood Celebration carried out on a magnificent scale with stars glittering and sharing a wonderful evening.
