“My motive behind making the film is not to give any teaching or speech” - Ajay Devgan

 
He has already proved his mettle as an actor with the most expressive eyes bollywood has ever seen.
His first directorial venture U Me Aur Hum is complete. Here the actor turned director shares about his motives as a filmmaker, whether the time was apt. and believes that a director has its own graph & style of story telling.

Motive behind making a film?
A: “To be true my motive behind making the film is not to give teaching or speech to the people my film is not a preaching to any one and I also haven’t made the film to prove my direction capabilities and skills.
I don,t want to make changes in the society, my motive is to entertain”.

Was it the right time to enter into direction?
A: The reality is I don’t know anything about right and wrong time but I know I wanted to make people hear one story. A story in which I believe and I feel it right from the bottom of my heart .In fact there was an idea juggling in my mind one day I penned it into a story and it went ahead in creating its screenplay.
I felt the way I want to describe this story is possible only when I direct the film. If I would have passed on this job of directing the film to someone else it would have created some difference that’s why I did it myself.

Any difficulty in directing your first venture?
A: No Problems!. People forget that I have also worked as an assistant director at one point of time. When I was 8 to9 years old right from that time I started participating in film editing and other related things with my father after that I worked as an assistant with Shekhar Kapoor. So I had a jest of direction since then. Apart from this I believe that if a director is clear about his vision and you have a good team you will never come across any problem.”

How have you described ‘love’ in U Me Aur Hum’.
A:  U ME Aur Hum is a romantic film. But there is no speech for this love in the film. Because love cannot be described in a new way. The bitter truth is that you need to work on every relationship to make relations healthier a lot of effort is required If relations are on the basis of love then efforts themselves take place and result in a lovely experience.

Working with an actor like Kajol who is also his life partner and the Co-producer of the film, so does any differences arrived on the sets?
A: “In such cases it becomes easier to work Apart from being a wonderful actor, she is also a co- producer for the film. Before shooting she use to ask every minor thing about the character and it was easy to work because of this factor as well. I faced no difficulty for her association in the movie. Scripting went in home itself during which kajol grasped a lot of thing and at the same even suggested on certain issues.

Were you inspired by any of the directors you have worked with while making U Me Aur Hum?
A: “As an actor I have worked with most acclaimed directors it hasn’t left any mark on my directing skills. Every director has graph of his own style of working and do not compare myself with any one”.
