Cooling his heels after working in ‘Metro’, Supermodel turned Film Actor Gautam Kapoor, seems quite thrilled regarding his role as an RJ opposite Konkana Sen Sharma. in Anurag Basu’s ‘Metro’.

After walking ramp for leading designers and having a successful stint as a model, endorsing major brands like Panasonic mobile –with co-model Bipasha Basu, Wrangler, Mafatlal, Raymonds, Zodiac, Hero Honda, to name a few. The aspiring actor now seeks passion in acting, before Radio Jockeying in Metro, Gautam was also seen in Alisha’s music videos and in Onir’s My Brother Nikhil.

Hoping to do some quality work the model turned actor Gautam gets gears up for a brief tete a tete with us. 

IMP. What is your role in Metro about?
GK. I play Wishy k, an RJ with a top radio station. Quite popular amongst the fair skin. Is also a compulsive flirt who is aware that Konkana (who works in the same station) is in awe of him but plays his game very smoothly on her. She finally gives him a reality check giving him a sense of realization.

IMP. How did the role landed up to you?
GK. The intent was to work with Anurag as he is a wonderful filmmaker and be part of such a novel script with exceptional performers. I met Anurag Basu with the above intention and he narrated the role to me. I really liked it, notwithstanding the fact that it's a petite but an important one with a beautiful song for my character. I did my own research regarding being an RJ cause I felt that this is a unique opportunity to show my capabilities.

IMP. How was the experience while working with Anurag Basu?
GK. I found his approach to film making very systematic as a director.  It was a Wonderful experience to work with Anurag, cause he is an easy going guy with a unique taste of story. All together it was a great team to work with.

IMP. How was it working with an experienced and fine actress like Konkana?   
G.K.  It was indeed learning and inspiring experience to work with such an experienced and focused actor like Konkana.  She has her own sense of style. She gets into the skin of the character with such ease, it’s really something that a newcomer like me looks out for.  

IMP. What’s next in pipeline?
G.K. I am doing an interesting film called the Marathon directed by Nisha Chainani. Here, Mandira Bedi is my co-actor. We play a married couple in the film which essays the turmoil that we go through due to the extramarital relationships of the husband.

IMP. What do you enjoy the most, acting or modeling?
G.K. Acting of course,  I love to act cause its a passion and I am enjoying every bit  of this learning experience. I look forward to doing more and more cinema hopefully with story lines that i can relate to.

IMP. Your dream-role?
G.K. Robert De Niro in Cape Fear, Al Pacino in Carlito's way .

IMP. One actor/actress you would love to work with?
G.K.  Definitely with Sanjay Dutt & Rekha.

IMP. Your other passions after acting?
G.K. Weight training, Martial arts shotukan and gojudu styles, self awareness exercises, squash, Swimming, Reading.
