Sitting cool & relaxed as always, actor- writer- producer & helmer Satish Kaushik now tries his hand in dealing with a sensitive subject of teenage pregnancy in his forth coming film ‘Tere Sang-A Kidult Love Story’, who has before being remembered for his commercial finesses with films like like “Prem”, “Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja”, “Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain”, “Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hain”, “Badhai Ho Badhai”, “Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hain”, “Tere Naam”, “Vada” and “Karz”.
The active member of International Film And Television Club of Asian Academy Of Film And Television who scored two filmfares for his comic performance in Saajan Chale Sasural & Ram Lakhan shares a bit about his sensitive film & the newcomers in the film Ruslaan and Sheena.
Q: Out of the box, quite an unusual title?
A: This film is about the sensitive issue like teenage pregnancy. That’s why it has been titled “Tere Sang-A Kidult Love Story”.
Q: What are the probabilities regarding the acceptance and appreciation in India?
A: I certainly feel that this film will be accepted in India, such incident prevails on high scale in remote areas where marriage takes place at very young age. Even Government and schools have started emphasizing on Sex-education. While I was shooting for a film in U.K, I heard lots of stories related to this topic and that’s how I got inspired to direct a film on subject like this.
Q: acting under your own production & direction, how it happened?
A: I wasn’t supposed to act. Everything went smoothly with the flow. Because of busy schedule of Anupam Kher, I was left with no option. We have produced the film under the banner of “Karol Bagh Film” comprising of Myself, Anupam Kher and Manoj Mittal. It just happened.
Q: You have shaped careers of new comers like Tabu, Sanjay Kapoor (Prem), Tushaar Kapoor (Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai), Bhoomika Chawla (Tere Naam) what’s your vibes regarding new comer Sheena and one-film old Ruslaan?
A: Ruslaan has already worked in one film, ‘MP3’ and indeed he was impressive. Sheena came to my office for donation. And on the spot I signed her for the film. Both have done justice to their roles. The story of the film is so strong and uprooted in today’s society that it holds the capacity to attract the audience at large. The experience was great.
And I am sure their chemistry will be loved by the audience.
Q:Finally, a Bollywood love story without melodious music is like sweet without sweetness, what’s your say regarding the music of the film?
A: Correct. The film is a love-story therefore; the music revolves around love, feelings and emotions. Personally, Raja Hasan. Sachin and Jigar voiced “More Sayiaan” is gaining appreciation day by day. I feel the music composed by Sachin and Jigar, Anu Malik and Bappi Lehari on the lyrics given by Samir and Virag Mishra has shaped well & its compliments the film & its cause.
