The astounding combination of the trio Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy who have sent waves bestowing the best of music in India have yet again teamed up to entertain Bollywood audiences with the music of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. Each member of this trio brings his own unique talents and experiences to the group, combining the Carnatic and Classical Indian vocal tradition (Shankar), Wester Rock (Ehsaan) and a deep understanding of fusion including a virtual mastery over the Electronic Synthesizer (Loy). After top charting music like that of Mission kashmir, Dil Chahta Hai, Don, Bunty- Babli and many more, the trio now brings in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom!, the title song is already becoming a rage, what they say about it….. Here we go

1. What is the Mood and Theme this time in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom?
The album has a strong Sufi /Punjabi sound blended in with a lot of rock and ethnic influences.

2. If you have to do a Music Review of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom….
All 3 Jhoom tracks rock, I like the idea of using a similar refrain in all 3 yet all songs sound different. Kiss of love is for the dance floor and Vishal has sung the song with a lot of energy. Halke Halke is melodically rich and has a strong Indian melody based on the bhim Palssi scale. Rahat adds a Sufi touch with his voice and Mahalakshmi delivers the song in her silky and very melodic voice. Ticket to Hollywood is like a song composed for a musical ( like a play ) it is situation based and has a funky hip hop Punjabi feel to it with a very different funky sounding groove , Niraj 's voice gives it that different texture that the song requires. Jhoom Jam is the 3 of us (SEL) partying in the studio on the last day of recording!!!!!

3. Your experience on working with Yash Raj?  Also some feel that with this album you defy the Chopra clan conventions... comment.
Yash Raj is a  wonderful producer to work for and Yash Raj studios are an extremely creative environment to work in. Aditya Chopra has this amazing ability to zero out the kind of song that would be popular. He and Shaad really pushed us as they did on Bunty aur Babli to create the music of jhoom. Well we do not think there is anything called a Chopra clan convention if a particular kind of music works with the film they will go with it.

4. How did you decide on what sounds to include in what tracks.
We experiment a lot in the studio and bring our influences to the music. We have varied influences and we listen to many different kinds of music hence we experiment a lot.

5. How was it working with Shaad Ali after Bunty and Babli-
Shaad is a friend, we have a lot of fun working together, and the experience is up lifting.

6. Which are your upcoming projects?
Hey Baby , Taaren Zameen Par , a new film with Kunal Kohli , Johnny Gaddar ,  Amol Palekar’s Dum Kutta and a new film with Nikhil Advani.
