Accepting a lifetime achievement award, the former Beatle said: "I just think British music is the best." At Earls Court in London was the lavish ceremony with all the pleasures for its audiences and comfort.

Amy Winehouse and Paul McCartney were seen quite relieved from their troubles at the Brit Awards ceremony British music industry’s most prestigious awards British bands Take That and Arctic Monkeys along with Rockers Foo Fighters won two awards maintaining the balance between Brit awards and Grammys.

Winehouse didn’t climb the stage for honors but wooed the Audiences by performing “Valerie” in company of Mark Ronson that was not the end she also carried the wave of music with “Love is a Losing Game” from her breakthrough album “Back to Black”                

Winehouse maintaining her level of patience appealed the audiences to cheer up for her husband Blake Fielder-civil who is behind the bars for lying and a sudden attack on police. Even going through a lot of unwanted mishaps in her life including surly behavior, drug incident, and humiliation with canceled concerts she fetched five Grammys this month.   

McCartney on the other hand who is trying to resolve inevitable issues of getting settled his acrimonious divorce from Heather Mills gave a conclusion to the night by performing a medley of hits including "Hey Jude" and "Live and Let Die" which he wrote in association of his late wife Linda

Grown-up boy band Take That won the British single of the year award for its song "Shine" along with the title of best live act.

The band that broke its association in 1996 got back after ten years excluding Robbie Williams. Members of the group passed ridiculous comments.

"I'm 37 years old, I've got an arthritic knee," band member Jason Orange said. The spiky pop quartet Arctic Monkeys was named British group of the year and also took the British album of the year prize for "Favourite Worst Nightmare."

Performer-producer Ronson, who has worked with Winehouse, Christina Aguilera and Jay-Z, was named British male solo act.

"I've never felt so British or male in my entire life," said Ronson, The British female solo artist trophy went to singer-songwriter Kate Nash, while Beirut-born, London-raised Mika, whose flamboyant vocal style has been likened to Queen's Freddie Mercury, was named British breakthrough act.

Kanye West and Kylie Minogue were named international solo acts of the year. Foo Fighters took prizes for international group and international album of the year for "Echoes Silence Patience & Grace."

The show, hosted by rock elder statesman Ozzy Osbourne and his family, while his family was amused at the same time. Kaiser Chiefs, Minogue and R&B star Rihanna, who sang her song "Umbrella" with the British band Klaxons also formed a part of the performers for the night McCartney was the star of the night however; whose five song medley, with green and blue flames, sparkling firecrackers and tracks that spanned a lifetime spent making music brought the house down.

The British Phonographic Industry Ltd., an industry association is solely responsible for organizing the event. Most winners are selected by a vote of more than 1,000 industry members, including representatives from record companies, the media, retailers, record producers, disc jockeys and promoters.

The British single, British breakthrough act and British live act prizes are decided by public phone or online voting.
